Text: Michela Zanon. Illustrations: Michal Meron.
Venice, November 2005.
The Jewish festivities and traditions, the historical milestones of a millenary people, the civil life and the relationship with Italy and with the Venetian society.
For several years, even in the rich variety of essays published in Italy on Jewish traditions, the necessity of a book picturing in a lively and at the same time accurate way, the foundations of Jewish life in Italy and in Venice.
In the attempt to offer an instrument answering to this exigency, Michela Zanon has synthesized in a clear way and with an accurate language the fruit of her rich experience at the Jewish Museum of Venice with the contribution of Laura Voghera Luzzatto and the supervision of Roberto Della Rocca, former Chief Rabbi of Venice, presently Director of the Cultural and Educational Department of UCEI (Union of Jewish Communities of Italy).
