The Island of St Servolo sprouts anew after a restoration intervention made by the Province of Venice and it returns to a new life, but above all, it returns to Venice and its people.
St. Servolo becomes such a way destination of visit of Venetian people wishing to research a nearby memory, of school classes, of cultural associationism of tourists looking for alternative routes.
From this habitual attendance, the exigence of a guide book describing the island’s history, transformations, and experience as a mental hospital was born.
This is what Fiorella Ruffato tried to do in this booklet: to give a first approach to St. Servolo to help us understand and remember.
