Codess Cultura is established in 1986 as a cultural department, part of the Codess Cooperative Society for Social Services (founded in 1979).

In January 2000, by means of a division, Codess Cultura Cooperative Society continues its way independently, constantly keeping and renewing its original mission: providing highly qualified services to private and public organisations responsible for the recovery, security and development of the historical and artistic heritage.

The experience acquired in over a decade has allowed Codess Cultura to develop its skills, permitting it to operate in museums, libraries and information centres in a professional and autonomous way; to devise and coordinate training courses and seminars; to create databases and develop innovative projects; to expand the congress sector and finally to organise and promote cultural events both at a national and international level.

Here are some of the most significant stages in the history of Codess Cultura.

In 1992 Codess Cultura develops a project called Liber&Ars, with the aim of developing a series of training courses and specialisation seminars dealing with the management and improvement of cultural good and services, focusing on museum and library activities.

Since 1993 Codess Cultura plays an active role in the Modena Consortium for Information and Communication (IN&CO), concentrating on the updating and marketing of a database for youth Information Centres.

In 1996 after many requests from public organisations, Codess Cultura establishes together with other companies, the business group VeneziaFiere for the development of exhibition and fair activities.

In 1998 Codess Cultura inaugurates a new branch office in Torino, which will initially specialise in the library and archives sector, and gradually cover other fields linked to activities in the Venetian branch.

In the same year, Codess Cultura decides to strengthen its position in the congress sector by introducing a new brand called “Venice Meeting World”.

In 1999 Codess Cultura creates the trademark Estweb.com, to launch itself in the Internet and Multimedia sector.

The year 1999 sets the beginning of the quality project regarding the quality certification in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:1994 standards, obtained by Codess Cultura in the year 2002 and adapted to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standards, in 2003.

In 2003 the first edition of the Social Balance Sheet is issued by Codess Cultura, presenting the activities of the year 2000 and their social impact in relation to the mission and the values of the cooperative. In 2004 the second edition is presented, relating to the year 2003.

In 2004 following a fusion with a company specialised in library and archives services operating in central Italy, the trademark INCIPIT becomes part of Codess Cultura’s heritage, granting access to prestigious collaborations with important cultural organisations.
In the present day, Codess Cultura can count on an operating branch office in Rome, and a network of partners and associates with great experience and professionalism, particularly in the library and archives sector.
